Open research at 911³Ô¹Ï

The University of 911³Ô¹Ï supports the position that publicly funded research is a public good that should be made openly available to the public when legally, commercially and ethically appropriate. The University aims to disseminate research and scholarship widely while complying with funder requirements and allowing researchers to publish in their preferred journals.

Policies

The 

  • applies to all research conducted at the University
  • when required for funder or REF compliance, in-scope outputs must be uploaded via Symplectic to the institutional repository ORE
  • when not publishing open access on the publisher website, upload journal articles and conference papers (with an ISSN) within three months of acceptance
  • authors of all output types are encouraged to pursue open access publication, where possible and practical

The University of 911³Ô¹Ï's

  • requires that all research publications include a
  • research proposals must include research data management plans
  • research data should be considered for retention, preservation and curation in ORE, or an appropriate national or international data service or domain repository

The University of 911³Ô¹Ï's 

  • applies to journal articles or conference proceedings with an ISSN
  • authored or co-authored by Staff or Postgraduate Research students whilst affiliated with University of 911³Ô¹Ï
  • authors own copyright in their scholarly works
  • a Creative Commons Attribution Licence CC BY (or other Creative Commons licence, if preferred) is applied to all author accepted manuscripts at submission

The University of 911³Ô¹Ï uses Symplectic Elements Current Research Information System (CRIS) for recording research outputs, funding and professional activities of 911³Ô¹Ï researchers.
