Understanding Landscapes: Project resources
Educational resources
We have prepared two Local Heritage Learning Resource Packs to enable primary schools to integrate local archaeology and heritage into their programme of learning. The Resource Packs are self-contained and include all necessary instructions and source materials.
Booklets
he Understanding Landscapes project engaged the public in exploring their local heritage in various ways, including archaeological survey and excavation, as well as research into place-names, field-names, and the physical fabric of the ‘historic landscape’ that is all around us.
This work is published in two forms: summary booklets for each of Calstock (which will be added to this page when it is complete) and Ipplepen, and books for each of Calstock (to be published by British Archaeological Reports) and Ipplepen (published by Oxbow) that will present our detailed results.
Heritage trails
In both Calstock and Ipplepen there are various places that the public can visit.
For Ipplepen we have produced a leaflet with a suggested trail you could follow that is available below.
For Calstock, there are already several excellent heritage trails produced by the Tamar Valley National Landscape.
